At PNNL, Dr. Buck has established a center for nuclear materials microscopy that includes facilities for the analysis of irradiated materials, as well as the capabilities for performing Post-Irradiation Examination of oxide and metallic fuels with OM, SEM, and TEM. He is currently engaged in developing a DualBeam FIB facility for nuclear materials research. He was the lead author on the Waste Form and In-drift Colloids-Associated Radionuclide Concentrations: Abstraction and Summary, MDL-EBS-PA-000004 for the Yucca Mountain Repository License Application. Dr. Buck currently teaches a graduate level course in electron microscopy at WSU Tri-Cities. He has served on the EMSL Rad-Facility review committee and is a PNNL contributing expert for morphology issues for the National Technical Nuclear Forensics Center (NTNFC).
